Update -
We are experiencing improved system response and reduced errors for Blackbaud and SchooLinks. However, the symptoms noted below may still occur intermittently as work continues. Amazon has reported improvements in their recovery efforts, but has not given a full restoration timeline for this outage. ITS will focus on monitoring changes to their incident status and any impact to NCSSM overnight. We will provide another update on this page by 9:30 a.m. ET on October 21, 2025.

Update -
From SchooLinks, which applies to about every other application for the 3 PM update:
We are continuing to experience service degradation due to a widespread outage impacting multiple AWS services. Our team has investigated and tested all available alternatives to mitigate the issue, but given the nature of the outage, there are no effective workarounds at this time.
The site remains online and accessible; however, users may notice slower performance, intermittent issues, or degraded functionality in certain areas of the platform. This is a direct result of underlying dependencies (such as networking and service resolution) being affected by the AWS incident.
We want to reassure you that our engineering team has been actively monitoring and testing options throughout the event. After exhausting the available paths, the most reliable approach at this time is to keep current services running while we monitor the health of AWS’s infrastructure and await their full restoration.
We are in close alignment with AWS communications and will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available. In the meantime, please note that any new deployments or scaling operations may be delayed until normal service is restored.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this event alongside our cloud provider.

No new update. JIRA is still showing an outage, Blackbaud and School Links are working, but there are latency issues

Update -
Like many other organizations across the globe, some software solutions continue to be impacted by an outage with Amazon Web Services. ITS is seeing improvements in some Blackbaud user's ability to login, but some latency issues continue while navigating the solution. We are investigating and actively working to mitigate impact. Please continue to reference this page for updates.

Due to an ongoing issue with a AWS, users are currently experiencing issues when trying to load Blackbaud, Canvas, SchoolLinks, or JIRA. ITS is currently working with the vendors to determine a resolution timeframe. We appreciate your patience and will continue to communicate updates regarding service availability through our status page.
